Frequently Asked Questions
What is life coaching?
Coaching is a partnership where we focus on helping you create positive change in your life. Unlike therapy (which explores past patterns and healing), coaching looks at where you are now and where you want to go. As your coach, I'm here to help you get clear on what you truly want, spot the things that might be holding you back, develop practical strategies that work for your life, and provide the accountability that makes all the difference as you create the life you’re dreaming of.
How is coaching different from therapy?
Both are incredibly valuable, but in different ways. Coaching focuses primarily on your present circumstances and future possibilities rather than healing past trauma or treating mental health conditions. You're the expert on your life and where you want it to go….so I act as your thinking partner, gentle challenger, and cheerleader rather than as a clinical expert. We'll be working together to move you forward rather than processing deep emotional wounds.
How long will we work together?
Everyone's journey unfolds at its own pace, but most of my clients find that 6 to 12 sessions provide enough momentum and support to create meaningful change. We typically meet every 1 to 2 weeks, giving you time to integrate new approaches into your everyday life. Some clients choose to continue with monthly check-in sessions after reaching their initial goals.
What happens during our coaching sessions?
Each 60-minute conversation is tailored specifically to you, but generally includes:
A check-in about how things have been going since we last spoke
Exploring what's currently on your mind
Thoughtful questions that lead to new insights and those "aha! moments” where lightbulbs spark in your head
Identifying small, doable steps to take before our next chat
Addressing any obstacles that might get in your way
Our sessions feel like meaningful conversations with purpose – warm, sometimes challenging, and always focused on moving you forward.
What's the investment?
I offer several options designed to meet different needs and budgets. I can offer a one-off session, or you may want to take advantage of savings available for packages of 6 or 12 sessions. I'm happy to share complete pricing details during our discovery call, where we can also discuss which option might be the best fit for you.
Where do we meet for coaching?
Our coaching conversations take place online, allowing us to connect effectively wherever you're based. If you’re close to Twickenham, there is an option to do a walking coaching session in one of the parks in the neighbourhood.
Is what we discuss confidential?
Absolutely. Our coaching relationship is built on trust and complete confidentiality. Everything we discuss remains private, with only the standard ethical exceptions (risk of harm to yourself or others, court order, etc.).
I adhere to the International Coaching Federation (ICF) code of ethics in my practice.
How do I know if coaching is right for me?
Coaching tends to be most helpful for people who are:
Ready for positive change and willing to take small, consistent steps
Open to friendly feedback and fresh perspectives
Committed to their personal growth
Willing to be honest with themselves and me, as your coach
Able to dedicate time between sessions to implement new practices
The best way to decide if coaching is right for you, and also if I’m the right coach for you, is to book our free discovery call. It's a chance for us both to ask questions and get a feel for whether we'd work well together!
Are you a qualified coach?
I have an ICF-certified PCC level diploma in coaching.
I have a question you haven't answered here.
I'd love to answer it! Please reach out or bring your question to our discovery call. There's no such thing as a silly question when it comes to something as important as your wellbeing and growth.
